Emma Flatt is an Assistant Professor in the History Department at UNC-Chapel Hill. She was awarded her PhD from the School of Oriental and African Studies in 2009, was the Past and Present Postdoctoral Fellow at the Institute of Historical Research in London and then worked at Nanyang Technological University in Singapore before moving to UNC. She is the co-editor (with Daud Ali) of "Garden and Landscape Practices in Precolonial India: Histories from the Deccan" and has published articles on wrestling and astrology. She is also currently involved in a collaborative project on the History of Friendship in South Asia.
